India closed 24 airports till 15 May, a big decision amid tension with Pakistan
The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has banned the movement of domestic flights at 24 airports in the country in view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan.

Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara, Pathankot airports in Punjab will remain closed, while Bhuntar, Shimla, Kangra-Gaggal airports in Himachal Pradesh will remain closed
Air India and IndiGo have cancelled their flights to many airports. IndiGo has advised customers to check flight status, rebook or get a refund.
Strict security arrangements
Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC) has been made mandatory for all passengers.
- Visitor entry has been completely suspended.
- Air marshals are being deployed.
- Airlines have requested passengers to reach the airport at least 3 hours in advance.
A day earlier, on Thursday, many aviation companies had issued travel advisory for their passengers, in view of the war situation in 27 airports across the country.
